Council for Africa was established in 2020 following a summit held in Africa where leaders and representatives from across Africa convened to address pressing challenges facing the continent. Recognising the need for a unified approach to tackle issues such as digital divide, poverty, economic rebuild, and policy, the council was formed as a platform for action.
At the inaugural summit, the leaders adopted the African Technology Unity Declaration, which outlines our core principles and commitments:
We stand together in the face of adversity, supporting one another in times of need including technological ones.
The Council is dedicated to fostering economic growth and enhancing capacity-building initiatives across African nations. Our focus on collaboration will create pathways for innovation, empower local economies, and enhance the continent’s ability to compete globally. Together, we will build a resilient Africa that leverages technology for lasting prosperity and social advancement.
